ABOUT THE JOB:
The role of the incumbent is to generate detailed manufacturing drawings that can be accurately manufactured in the IMT mechanical workshop within time limits and in accordance with approved standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Essential: N3 with Technical training in Technical drawings
- Added advantage: N6 Technical qualification
- Essential: 3-5 years’ experience as draughtsperson
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;
- Interpret the need (verbal or rough sketches) as received from project team and translate into technical drawings.
- To generate detailed manufacturing drawings that can be accurately manufactured in the IMT mechanical workshop within time limits and in accordance with approved standards.
- Record appropriate and correct information on the drawings.
- Submit drawings for approval to clients.
- Safe storage and configuration of drawings in accordance to IMT processes and procedures.
- Do adjustments to technical drawings as required by the project team.
- Create a family tree to illustrate the relationship between parts and assemblies.
- Utilize applicable approved 3D cad software for drawings.
KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
- Knowledge of 3D cad software
- Knowledge of technical drawings
- Knowledge of workshop practices
- Knowledge of drawing standards
- Knowledge of configuration management standards
