Job Description: To lead, implement, and manage all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) functions across Armscor, including facilities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, promoting a proactive safety culture, and minimizing operational risks.

Duties Responsibilities:

Qualifications: • Post Graduate Degree (NQF 8) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering with SHE specialisation, or related field, or related field.

Experience: EXPERIENCE • 10+ years in SHE management, with 5 years in a middle management capacity. • Proven track record in developing and implementing enterprise-wide SHE strategies, policies, and management systems, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). • Hands-on experience in operational SHE leadership, including incident prevention, investigations, corrective actions, audits, and compliance monitoring across multiple sites. • Demonstrated expertise in waste management and environmental impact mitigation, including hazardous, non-hazardous, chemical, and e-waste management at enterprise scale. • Experience in crisis management, emergency preparedness, and business continuity integration, ensuring operational resilience and regulatory compliance during incidents. • Proven ability to design and lead SHE training, culture, and awareness programs across diverse teams and contractor networks. • Experience engaging with regulatory authorities, statutory bodies, and external auditors, ensuring compliance and alignment with national and international standards. KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • In-depth knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental management principles, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant national legislation (e.g., Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental regulations). • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor enterprise-wide SHE strategies, sustainability initiatives, and waste management programs across multi-site operations. • Practical understanding of hazardous, non-hazardous, chemical, and e-waste handling, disposal, reduction, and recycling practices tailored to diverse operational contexts. • Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, audit management, and regulatory compliance monitoring. • Knowledge of emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, and integration of SHE processes with business continuity and risk management frameworks. • Skilled in overseeing multi-site operations, coordinating SHE programs, and implementing initiatives with measurable business impact.
