Underwater Security

Underwater Security (USEC)

The underwater battlespace is increasingly vulnerable to threats such as naval mines, intruders, and sabotage. IMT’s USEC domain develops systems and modelling approaches to detect, classify, and neutralise these risks. Key areas include mine countermeasures, underwater intruder detection, and waterside security — vital for both naval bases and critical port infrastructure.

Emphasis is placed on unmanned systems and intelligent information processing, allowing for greater efficiency and reduced risk to human operators. These technologies contribute not only to military readiness but also to safeguarding commercial maritime assets in high-risk environments
