RMSS: About Standardisation
Introduction

Formerly, formal standardisation programmes in the RSA military environment focussed on standardisation documents development (ie currently the system that facilitates, coordinates and administers RSA-Mil-documents).

Recent strategic outcomes indicate, however, that standardisation in the military environment should be structured in such a way that it recognizes different (standardisation) elements/components that are required to be able to fully integrate with key business areas (that it should not only be based upon the availability and usage of selected standardisation documents).

It was also found that, once these different elements/components have been identified and fully defined, the standardisation system should be restructured accordingly, and that it should be supported by the necessary policy mechanisms. (see item at NEWS).

This link supplies generic information that will be helpful when restructuring the standardisation system so that it can function in a much more integrated and holistic manner.
