RMSS: About Us
Mission:

The mission of the RMSS is to foster standardisation within Armscor and the RSA Military Defence environment by way of an efficient, coordinating mechanism consisting of a steering committee (the RMSS), a project coordinating body (the Coordinated Working Group of the RMSS – CWG) and a secretariat and administrative division (the RSA Military Standardisation Centre – RMSC), and to provide the required functional interfaces to its main clients and business process areas.

Vision:

The vision of the RMSS is to continue to render a coordinating service for all standardisation activities, and to optimise efforts by focussing on the following:

• Improved client service;
• Better integration of standardisation requirements and efforts with core business activities;
• Optimised policy and structural interfaces (to have a policy for standardisation developed that sufficiently integrates with overall business strategy);
• Optimised processes for the day-to-day management of standardisation operational requirements;
• Phasing out of inefficient and non-value-adding functions; and
• Stepping up training and awareness of standardisation efforts in all areas of business.
