Armscor supports standardisation by giving preference to the selective use of international and commercial standards and specifications. A limited amount of unique standardisation documents (eg. Do you supply bursaries to students that are studying BSc Mathematics, Aeronautical Engineering and Metallurgy.
The Bursary Selection Committee reviews each bursary on its merits and gives approval based on manpower needs of the organisation. Bursaries are therefore allocated on the basis that the bursary holders are willing and would be employed by the organisation by the time they complete their studies. Students doing Metallurgy or Civil Engineering for example, cannot be employed by Armscor and therefore cannot be offered bursaries. Armscor only offers bursaries in the Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical and to a limited extent in the Chemical fields. Manpower needs of the organisation will warrant that the Bursary Selection Committee should indicate on annual basis what bursaries are available.

When is the closing date for application for bursaries?
January, for the relevant year.

Is Armscor and Denel one and the same company?
Up to 1992 ARMSCOR fulfilled the roles of materiel acquisition for the Dep of Defence as well as the manufacturing of armaments. In 1992 the organisation split into two and this resulted in the birth of Denel as a manufacturing company, and the much reduced ARMSCOR, fulfilling the function of materiel acquisition for the Dep of Defence.
