Thank you for visiting our
website.
Contrary to the perceptions
of many, Armscor no longer manufactures armaments. This function
ceased on 1 April 1992, when Denel
(Pty) Ltd was created to take over Armscor’s manufacturing facilities.
Armscor now exists to meet
the acquisition, maintenance and disposal needs of the South African
Department of Defence, and other clients, in terms of defence matériel and related products and services. Armscor also supports the local defence-related industry. We are a centre of technical excellence and are a national asset.
In essence, we provide a
gateway to defence solutions.
As you read through the
pages on this website, you will see how we fulfill this role. You
can read more about Armscor’s
history , get an
overview of what Armscor stands for and read about the products
and services that Armscor provides, our social
investment initiatives and a
lot more, by selecting the About Armscor option in the navigation menu at the
top
left of every page.
The shortage of engineers
and technically qualified personnel, especially from previously disadvantaged
communities, provides Armscor with a challenge, as
does the general lack of interest in the defence industry shown by
Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) companies. You can read more about
our BEE programme by selecting
the Black Economic Empowerment option in the navigation menu at the
top left of every page.
I hope you will find the
information on our website to be both informative and
enlightening. Should there be any additional information that you
feel we should include on our website, or if you have
any suggestions or queries, we would
appreciate it if you could send an e-mail message to info@armscor.co.za.
